Bryan-Lee Funeral
Home began in 1976 with a group of interested Garner residents.
Twenty-two residents, including Steve Bryan and Alex Lee, put together
a corporation named Service Investment Corporation. The name was
later changed to Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Inc.
Bryan-Lee Funeral
Home opened on January 29, 1977 and began serving families within
24 hours. In 1983, Bryan and Lee purchased most of the outstanding
shares of stock in the corporation. In 1986, Alex Lee purchased
Mr. Bryan's shares of the business and Mr. Bryan purchased a funeral
business in Swan Quarter, NC. Bryan-Lee Funeral Home is now solely
owned by Mary and Alex Lee.
Bryan-Lee operates
with a staff of eight full time employees including Mary and Alex.
All other employees work on a part-time basis. This reduces overhead
which is a large part of the operating cost. Bryan-Lee Funeral Home
is one of the most self sufficient funeral facilities in our area.
In addition to being a complete funeral establishment, Bryan-Lee
sets its own prices, opens and closes its own graves, and has its
own monument operation.
In 1993, Bryan-Lee
opened a second facility in Angier, NC, about 18 miles south of
the Garner location. Angier is the hometown of Alex's father. On
January 3, 1997, The Lee's purchased the Dortsch-Andrews home at
831 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh with plans to operate a funeral
facility in this location. After renovations and some additions,
Bryan-Lee opened its third facility in the fall of 2000.
Bryan-Lee Funeral
Home is a member of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association,
The National Funeral Directors Association, The Order of the Golden
Rule and the Selected Independent Funeral Homes. Bryan-Lee is one
of only seven homes in North Carolina to hold membership in both
the Order of Golden Rule and National Selected Morticians.
Bryan-Lee is
also proud to be the only family owned and operated funeral home
in the Raleigh, Garner, Angier and Clayton area.
