| RALEIGH – Betty Ruth Gregory Armstrong, 88, passed away March 4, 2010 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Harnett County, NC one of twelve children of the late Charles Rass and Polly Matthews Gregory.
Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver St. Angier, NC. A family graveside service at Harnett Memorial Park will follow.
Betty is survived by her children, H. David Armstrong and his wife, Judy of Hartsville, SC; Gail Armstrong Osborne, Jeffery Mark Armstrong and wife, Martha, Timothy Shannon Armstrong all of Raleigh; three grandchildren, A. Jason Armstrong and wife, Heather of Virginia Beach, Va; Shannon M. Armstrong and Timothy W. (Bill) Armstrong, both of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren, Riley P. and Kennedy G. Armstrong; sisters, Lottie G. Sexton, Esteen G. Smithson, and Hearley G. Cox, brothers, Kearney Gregory, Lyman Gregory and Fred Gregory; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Harold C. Armstrong, brothers, Sidney Gregory, B. Evis Gregory and Graham W. Gregory, sisters, Madie G. Arrington and Ruby G. Powell.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Tremont of the Cancer Center of NC and Hospice of Wake County for the excellent care that was given to Betty.
