Bryant Cameron Langston, Jr. (B.C.) passed away at home on November 21, 2018 after a five-plus-years battle with Lewy Body Dementia. B.C. was born to the late B. Cameron Langston and Lena Fields Langston on September 20, 1942 in Kinston, NC. After graduating from Contentnea High School in Grifton, NC, he attended North Carolina State University, graduating with a B.S. degree in Crop Science in 1965. He worked for the N.C. Department of Agriculture for 15 years, and the U.S.D.A. Tobacco Market News until his retirement in 2001. B.C. was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and great uncle to many. He was an avid Wolfpack fan, and an avid golfer. He loved making up and telling jokes and being a great friend. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. B.C. is survived by his wife, Wanda; his sister, Evelyn Langston Phillips; his children Susan Langston, Gary Langston, Amy Langston Finelli (Michael), Elizabeth Sturdevant Phelan (Brian), Jason Sturdevant (Brittany), and Seth Sturdevant (Jamie); his grandchildren Jared McCollam, Kaitlyn McCollam, Brooke McCollam Dziuk (Chris), Domenic Finelli, Adrian Sturdevant, Jayden Sturdevant, Evan Mortera, Noah Mortera, Ryan Sturdevant and Christian Sturdevant; his great granddaughter Lena. He is also survived by many other family members. He was predeceased by his brother John Jay Langston, and sister Sarah Langston Jenkins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, N.C. No additional services are planned per BCs request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: N.C. State University Foundation, Campus Box 7474, Raleigh, NC 27695-7474 (memo line NCSU Student Financial Aid Fund in memory of B.C. Langston); Sharon United Methodist Church, 4106 Sharon Church Road, Kinston, 28501, NC in memory of B.C. Langston. The family wishes to thank everyone who was involved in B.C.’s care during the last two months, especially Transitions nurses, aides and all the friends who supported his family during this difficult time. The family would greatly appreciate anyone providing, in writing, a story about B.C., any of his funny sayings, or “BCisms” at the visitation. The collection will be sent out later to anyone who would like them and provides their email/mailing address. Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
