John Wallace Woodlief

John Wallace Woodlief, 87, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. A native of Wake County, Wallace was born on November 18, 1935, to the late Moses McClellan and Alma Algie Henley Woodlief. Wallace married the love of his life, Meredith Ann Davis. He served 4 years in the US Air Force and was a deacon at his church. Wallace spent 22 years working for Schindler Elevator before retiring and enjoying 27 years with his family.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 3PM, at Plymouth Church, 6104 Rock Service Station Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial in the Plymouth Church Cemetery will follow.

Wallace is survived by his wife of 64 years Meredith Ann Davis Woodlief; his children, Suzann Pape and husband, Greg, Mike Woodlief and wife, Janet, and Leslie W. Hobbs and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Stephen G. Pape, Elizabeth Pape Martucci, Erin Woodlief Bill, Benjamin M. Woodlief, Sarah Ann Woodlief, Joshua D. Woodlief, and Clinton T. Hobbs; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Howard, Maxine Daly, and Fay Noland; a brother, Gilbert Woodlief; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by 5 sisters.
