Virginia "Jenny" Capps Holden

RALEIGH – Virginia “Jenny” Capps Holden, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on, May 20, 2024. A native of Harnett County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John David Norris, Sr., and Mavel L. Miller Norris. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith and belief in the Lord was inspiring and shined brightly in all that she did.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Bill Capps, Sr.; and sister, Shirley Mangum, both of whom she loved very dearly.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, William “Bill” Holden; sons, Paul J. Capps, Jr. and wife, Terri of Garner, and Matthew L. Capps and wife, Lori of Dunn; sisters, Cathy Eason and husband, Mike of Angier, and Julia Wood of Coats; brothers, Dr. J.D. Norris, Jr., and wife Pat of St. Augustine, Florida, and Lewis Norris and wife, Gloria of Raleigh; and grandchildren, Brooke Lubkemann and husband, Austin of Tucson, Arizona, Trey Capps of Garner, Adam Capps of Dunn, and Sam Capps of Dunn.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 12:30 PM, at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church, 10212 Fayetteville Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends and family for a period of visitation at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church from 11:30 AM – 12:15 AM on May 23, 2024, an hour prior to the service. A private family committal ceremony will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church, 10212 Fayetteville Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
