December 23, 1925 — April 13, 2022

Garner - Agnes “Aggie” Miriam Burney Wheeler, 96, of Garner, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 21 at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C. She was born in Dillon, South Carolina to the late David Gaston Burney and Sophia Brumble Burney. In July, 1947, she married the love of her life, Henry Boyd Wheeler and they moved to Garner NC. They were happily married for 60 years. When they moved to Garner, she became an active member of the Garner First Baptist Church and, later, a founding member of Aversboro Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Junior Woman’s Club, several book clubs, the Golden Kiwanis Club for Seniors, and Women’s Missionary Union. She enjoyed playing tennis for many years and playing in several bridge clubs with her friends. She was blessed with so many friends and family that she enjoyed so much—mountain trips, beach trips, game nights, dancing, shopping, cards, and “porch” talks. Aggie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, “Tweet”, her sisters Louise Burney Bracey and her husband, Roy Lee, Ruth Burney Berry and her husband, “Red”, her brother David “DG” Burney and his wife, Edna, and her niece Linda Bracey Pearce. She is survived by her children, son Henry Wheeler, Jr. and his wife, Debbie; her son David Wheeler and his wife, Teri; her daughter Anne Fowler and husband, Donald; 4 grandchildren: Ashlie, Allison, Jason and Amanda; 7 great grandchildren: Kye, Ansley, Ben, Cason, Natalie, Logan and Kylie. She so adored her numerous nieces: Jackie, Sha, Suzanne, Lee Anne, Julie, Melanie, Lara and their families. The family wishes to thank her wonderful caregivers that she had throughout the years…Gloria Bernard, Sandra Hodge, Pam Williams, Shelia Powell, and Linda Parker. They were her angels on earth. Also, thank you to the many friends that showed their love and support to her and the family. Memorials may be made to HeartlandHospiceFund.org/Donate
