Alanna Gail Capps

November 20, 2012 — February 20, 2024

Fuquay-Varina - Heaven received an amazing angel on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Alanna was 11 years old. She was born on November 20, 2012, in Wake County, to Michelle and Michael Capps.

Alanna attended 5th grade at Hilltop Christion School which she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed attending GA’s and the Club 56 program at Piney Grove Baptist Church where she attended. She loved being outside, playing especially with her dog Bruno, going fishing with her family, feeding the birds, doing crafts, making mints, and reading the Christmas book at Aunt Dianne’s and Uncle Randy’s each Christmas morning. She loved all her many school/church friends and her stuffed animals. She especially loved okra, squash, crushed ice, ice cream, grilled cheese sandwiches, and helping her granny cook. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her infectious smile, and kind, loving, sassy, and giving spirit, and will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and all of those she touched throughout her short life. She was a child of incredible Christian faith who could light up any room.

She loved all of her family with all her heart, especially her parents, brother, and sister. Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Michelle Thomason Capps (Kyle); sister, Anna Capps; brother, Andrew Capps; father, Michael Capps; uncle, Jason Thomason (Amanda); grandparents, Rhonda and Wayne Thomason, Mike and Cathy Capps, and Donna Kaufmann; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her very special puppy, Bruno, fish, Moon Pie, and her guinea pigs, Smore and Gizmo.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC; and at other times at the home of Rhonda and Wayne Thomason, 3404 Piney Grove Wilbon Road, Fuquay-Varina. A celebration of life service will be held at Hilltop Church on Monday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Flowers are welcome, but memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 3217 Piney Grove Wilbon Road, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526, or Hilltop Christian School (Alanna Capps Memorial Scholarship fund in care of Hilltop Christian School) 10212 Fayetteville Road, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Fuquay Peds (Dr. Gary Dupuy), UNC doctors, nurses, and staff, UNC Rex in Holly Springs, the flight team of UNC Carolina Air Care, her Piney Grove Church family, Hilltop Christian School family, Garner Florist, Rebecca Neagle, Gwen Underwood, Doris Underwood, Linda Stephens, and the thousands of people who prayed for her during her brief illness, and acts of kindness shown to our family during this devastating time.

"Alanna left us today to join her other loved ones in heaven…Our family will never be the same without her infectious smile. She left us with wonderful memories and will live in our hearts forever.” Fly high our precious little one.
