Fuquay-Varina -Albert E. Anthony, 67 passed away on April 6, 2012. Al was born on September 11, 1944 to Albert L. and Mary E. Anthony in Baltimore City. He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School in Baltimore, MD. and began a career in the automotive repair industry. Al spent 25 years developing his skills and became a Master Mechanic before transitioning to Service Writer/Estimator with Western Auto in Aberdeen, MD. In 1999, Al departed to Assistant Supervisor and retired in August of 2007. Upon retirement, Al moved to Fuquay-Varina to be with his son, daughter-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters. Al was a member of several religious civic organizations including Knights of Columbus MD Council #370, the Alhambra of Alcala and the Cheese Club. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, Durham Bulls and Virginia Tech Hokies. Al is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juanita Anthony; son, Michael Anthony and wife Lorilee; brother, Harry M. Anthony and wife Eby; grandchildren, Karson and Emma Anthony; cousin, Charles Douglas and wife Ginger. A special thank you to all the staff of Wake Med, Raleigh for their help and compassion during this difficult time.Funeral service with inurnment in the Church Columbarium will be held on Friday April 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd Building Fund in memory of Albert Anthony. The family will receive friends after the service in the Shepherds Hall at the church.
