Albert Edward Coates

RALEIGH – Albert Edward Coates passed away peacefully on January 06, 2023. Edward was born on August 04, 1931, in the United Kingdom. He grew up in Australia which is as dear to him as his native country. He always considered he was an Australian. He was son of the late Vera and Albert Coates.

Edward was interested in history of Aviation and had collected aircraft photographs for more than sixty years. His aviation website is www.edcoatescollection.com, as of July 2019, the Civil Aviation Historical Society Inc. (Australia) has taken over running this website. He also made it available on http://edcoatesaircraftphotos.com. He was a very kind and generous person, and loved to share his knowledge with those who loved him. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Vera, and Albert Coates. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teri Coates.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Drive, Raleigh, NC 27608. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Columbarium and Memorial Garden.
