Albert Eiler Hedges

Albert Eiler Hedges, 83, devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and follower of Christ, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023. A native of Baltimore, MD, Albert was born July 15, 1940, to the late James William and Virginia Irene Strieb Hedges. He was a member of The Shepherd’s Church, in Cary, for more than 25 years. Al proudly served his county in the US Air Force as a Crash Firefighter. More than anything else, he loved sharing Jesus with others and spending time with his family.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1PM, in the Chapel at The Shepherd’s Church, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC 27518. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Al is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Hedges; children, Kelly Woods (Mike) and Brian Hedges; son-in-law Wilbur Fisher (Chelle); 11 grandchildren (5 spouses); 3 great grandchildren; brother, Michael Hedges; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Fisher; sisters, Norma Roche, Eleanor Davidson, and Patsy Lawrence; and brothers, Bill and Terry Hedges.
