Albert Fisher Ballard

June 2, 1952 — August 13, 2024

Mr. Albert Fisher Ballard, age 72 of Raleigh, NC died Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 2, 1952 in Wake County, NC to the late Robert Lamar and Shirley McDaniels Ballard.


He is survived by his wife, Susan Timberlake Ballard; his sons, Chris Ballard and his fiancé, Rachel and Sean Ballard and his wife, Lisa; and four grandchildren, Camdyn, Madison, Linden and Joslyn.


Al was a loving husband to Susan for 48 years, a dedicated father, grandfather and uncle, loyal son, staunch coach, dutiful coworker, supportive small group leader and caring friend to many. Al loved the Lord, his family and friends, sports, music, his Corvette Stingray, and was a devoted NC State fan.


The family extends heartfelt thanks to the UNC Lung Transplant Team for the extraordinary care they provided which enabled Al to receive and sustain a life-saving double lung transplant for almost eight years. The family would also like to encourage others to become organ donors to give life to another.


Al’s Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 19th at Amplify Church, 2884 NC-42, Willow Spring, NC. His family will receive friends following the service in the church.
