GARNER – Albert Milton Dodson, 89, beloved husband of Geraldine Williams Dodson, passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side. He was born in Haw River to John & Clara Thompson Dodson. Albert was a driver for Trailways for 32 years, former Vice-President of the local Amalgamated Transit Union and a life member of the William T. Bain Masonic Lodge. Albert had to quit school in the 7th grade to work on the family farm during WW II. After retiring at age 62, he went to Wake Tech and earned his GED. Albert was a giving, caring and unselfish person who graciously helped anyone in need, and will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends. Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine Williams Dodson, grandson Matt Myron, five sisters and six brothers. Survivors include his sons Jerry Dodson and wife Marie and Ted Dodson and wife Vicky; grandchildren Chris Dodson and wife Sarah, Lindsey Crane, Rob Myron and wife Rebecca, and Garrett Myron and wife Jennifer. Papa never missed an opportunity to spoil and pamper his 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Friday.
