Albert Perry, 91 of Raleigh and Gamer passed peacefully on Monday evening in Rex Hospital. Albert is preceded in death by his father, Albert R. Perry, Sr., his mother, Mary Stell Perry, sisters, Beatrice P. Privette and Mary Edith Williams, and brother, Billy Thomas Perry. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris, 2 daughters, Sonya Perry and Cynthia Marriage, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. After being drafted at age 17 into the U.S. Army during WWII, he became a paratrooper in Japan, serving under General Douglas McArthur. He attended college at San Luis Obispo, after which he went into the insurance and general contracting businesses. He was a devout Christian and served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He loved his God, his family and his Country. Upon his retirement, he and Doris were able to travel and enjoyed seeing historical sights across the country. The family wishes to thank Dr. Anant Soni of Raleigh, and the staff of the Laurels of Forest Glenn for his care during his illness. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home at 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, with family visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park with military honors. Flowers will be appreciated, or donations may be made to the Building Fund at Neuse Baptist Church, 414 South Town Circle, Rolesville, NC 27571.
