Alene Ray Buckner

Garner -Alene Ray Buckner was born on June 19, 1926 in Asheville, NC. She went home to her eternal reward on August 23, 2011. She made it to her 85th birthday this year, and considered her life full and blessed beyond measure. She is survived by her daughter; Nancy Carole (Nikki) Lane, and grandson, Matthew Seals, both of Clayton; son, Phillip David Buckner, II and wife Wendy of Littlestown, PA.; and granddaughter, Alice Buckner of Westminster, MD; sister, Jeanette Gibson and husband Jack and their daughter, Debbieof Tucker, GA. Along with special friends, Rev. & Mrs. Jerry Hewatt and their children and grandchild. Mrs. Buckner was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, SSgt. Phillip D. Buckner, USMC (Ret.). For the past two years, she attended the Garner Church of God, located at 2208 Benson Rd. (Hwy. 50), where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at 6:30 PM The family will have a graveside service when her remains are laid to rest beside her husband at the family burial site in Buford, GA.
