Alice Allene Carter Aldridge, 90, passed away Sunday. A native of Clinch County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Zet and Alice Carter. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nana who lived a life of service to God, the church, and her family. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at Garner Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Benson, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Allene is survived by her daughters, Darlene Barnard of Garner, Sharon McGee of Ashland VA; son, Stephen Aldridge (Annette) of Clayton; grandchildren, Angie Jones (Johnny), Jeremy Barnard (Tina), Stephen Aldridge (Lisa), Donnie Sugg (Kelli), Ben Smith (Kristyn), Jennifer Green (Matthew), Christian Childress (Megan), Elizabeth Childress, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Aldridge was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harold E. Aldridge; sisters, Vera Graham, Pauline Jones; brothers, Wardell Carter, E.C. Carter, A.J.
