Alice Cogdell Garner

Fuquay-Varina - Alice Cogdell Garner, 87, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day.A native of Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie S. and Florence Bryan Cogdell.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde H. Garner; her brothers, Harper, Walter, and Joe Teeny Cogdell, and her sister, Mildred Cogdell Weeks.Survivors include her sons, Sanford and wife, Donna of Cary and John and wife, Anne of Hillsborough; her daughter, Karen Allen and husband, Jim of Clarksville, VA, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Garner of Cary.Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church (308 N. Ennis St.).Burial will follow at the Wake Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church fellowship hall (307 N. Ennis St.) from 12:00 to 1:00.Memorial contributions may be made to the Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church or to the charity of your choice.
