Alice M. Plante St. Pierre

CARY- Alice M. (Plante) St. Pierre, 85, previously of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and a resident of North Carolina for the past 10 years passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Universal Healthcare of Fuquay-Varina. She was the devoted wife of the late Roger St. Pierre and the late Gerald Plante. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Tellier) Smith. Alice had worked many years at John Fogarty Memorial Hospital and also at Woonsocket Health Centre. When she moved to Cary, NC in 2005, she volunteered her time at the Dorcas Thrift Store until Dementia forced her to resign. Alice took great pride in her work and was always recognized for her determination and devotion. Even as a resident at the Carillon Memory Care facility in N. Raleigh she helped out wherever she could. Alice will be remembered by family members for the great summer cookouts that she would host at her home in RI. Alice is survived by her one son, Gary Plante and his wife Linda of Raleigh, North Carolina. Her surviving siblings are Emil Smith and Barbara Parenteau. She was pre-deceased by her sisters; Beatrice Vinciguerra and Blanche Aubin and her brothers; Edward, John, Robert, Harold, Francis and Stanley Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A prayer service honoring Alice’s life will take place at 7:00 pm during the visitation. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to any Alzheimer’s organization of your choosing.
