Alice W. Butts

FUQUAY-VARINA – Alice W. Butts, 90, passed away Tuesday at Universal Health Care in Fuquay-Varina. A native of Chatham County, she was the daughter of the late Kadir Womble and Obelia Seagroves Womble. Alice is survived by her daughter, Glenda Parker and husband, Dave of Holly Springs; son, Steve Butts and wife, Jennie of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Betty, Marie, Grace; brother, Otha; grandchildren, Tabitha Rich, Stephen Butts II and wife, Lauren, Shane Parker and wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Alisyn and Olivia Rich, Mason, Garrett, and Wesley Butts and Hadley Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dedicated husband, Lyle W. Butts; brothers, Avery, Archie, Allen and sister, Ellen. Retired as a successful, local business owner she bravely battled long term injuries suffered as a car accident victim. She will be remembered as a loving parent, for her outstanding cooking and beautiful gardens. Special thanks to niece Lisa for her dedicated assistance. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. A private entombment will take place at a later date in the Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina.
