Allen Ross Penny

RALEIGH - Allen Ross Penny, 75, a retired employee of the City of Raleigh, died Wednesday at his residence while surrounded by his family. A native of Wake Co., he was the son of the late Brack and Lula Hathaway Penny and a US Army veteran. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Surviving: his wife of 22 years. Frances Bridges Penny; daughter, Jessie Thompson and her husband, Dale of Raleigh; son, Jeff A. Penny and his wife, Sarah of Raleigh; step daughter, Brenda Boykin of Garner; step son, Robert Hicks and his wife, Robin of Garner; sisters, Janice Tart and her husband, Rayford of Garner and June Evans of Raleigh; grandchildren, Mary Ann Durand and her husband, Daniel, Michael Thompson, Autumn Penny, Summer Boykin, Lindsie Boykin, Leslie Boykin, Carmen Hicks and Nikki Birdsong and great-grandson, Joseph Boykin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ruth Clifton Penny; sister, Eunice P. Chappell; brothers, Ray Penny, Owen Penny and C.C.
