Alma Elizabeth Shaffer

Alma Elizabeth “Betty” Shaffer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Betty was predeceased by her husband Donald B. Shaffer, son William B. Shaffer, daughter Elaine Faye Gonella, and granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Gonella. She is survived by son Sanford L. Shaffer, daughter Marilyn J. Rimmer,

brother Donald F. Housholder, seven grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Betty and Don were married on August 9, 1948, and enjoyed more than 70 years together. Betty’s life was centered on caring for her husband and children, and support for the activities of the family. These activities included not only efforts in homemaking, but also direct assistance with household renovation and improvement projects.

In her quiet time, Betty enjoyed collecting stamps, solving jigsaw puzzles, and activities with the family.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
