Alona Presente King

Alona Presente King (born Alona Maulion Presente in San Juan, Batangas, Philippines) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday night, June 25th, 2023, at 55 years old in Chapel Hill, NC, USA. She was preceded in death by her father, Hugo Presente; sister, Mary Jane Presente; and husband, David Bruce King Sr.

Alona is survived by her son, David Bruce King Jr., her significant partner, Jeffrey Marsch, her late husband’s children: Aaron & Ana (Paul, Leonardo) King; Melissa Thomas (Mark, Maikala, Marissa, Meleah); Amanda & Lee (Sebastian and Adrian) Hanlon.

She is also survived by her mother, Angelita Maulion Presente, as well as her siblings: Pong & Brando (Vince & Alexander); Lalaine (Gerrome, Paulo, and Pauline); Beth & Arnold (Aila, Arvin, Arriane, and Benson); Juliet & Joel (Kim, Jaina); Jervin & Francine (Khian, Lukas); Jojo & Alma (AJ, JM, JC).

Alona silently struggled with the sudden onset of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension diagnosed in March 2020. She fought fiercely with all available medical treatments via UNC-Chapel Hill to stay with her son until he was ready to stand on his own.

Alona was so very loved by all who knew her. She was a very loving, stoic, and selfless person. She achieved so much in her life including a Bachelors degree in Nursing, though she would say David is what she was most proud of.

Funeral services will be available at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC on Monday, July 3rd, 2023, at 2 pm EST, visitation held from 1pm-2pm. The funeral service will be live streamed for all unable to be physically present – LINK will be made available on Facebook -. Following, Alona will be laid to rest next to her husband in San Juan, Batangas, Philippines.
