Amaryllis Flynn Howard Mcghee

Raleigh - Amaryllis Flynn Howard McGhee, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. She was born in Varina, NC to Wingate and Mabel Flynn Howard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roscoe W. McGhee; daughter, Joan Marbrey and sister, Flora H. Amos. Amaryllis was always running late because she was constantly caring for others. She was known for being compassionate and generous to all. She was a devoted friend. Survivors include: son, Richard (Nancy) McGhee, daughter, Donna McGhee; son-in-law, Larry Marbrey; grandchildren, Yvette (Joel) Rich, Yvonne (Bruce) King, Nichole McGhee, Alex McGhee; great-grandchildren, Brittany & Bailey King, Justin &Ashlyn Rich and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Westover United Methodist Church, Raleigh with the family receiving friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank all those who helped in her care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Hospice or the charity of your choice.
