Raleigh- Annie Belle Stone, 96, of Garner Road, passed away on Wednesday at Heartfields Assisted Living at Cary. She was born in Johnston County, NC to Baldy Joseph Beasley and Maude Coats Beasley. Annie Belle and her twin sister Mozelle were known as the Beasley twins growing up. She graduated with honors from Cleveland High School where she excelled in basketball and tennis. Annie Belle married Leonard I. Stone February 11, 1939 and they were married for 62 years until Leonards death in May 2001. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, August 10th at Hayes Chapel Christian Church with burial following in the church cemetery.Annie Belle was a member of the Home Demonstration Club for many years, was active in the Garner PTA, and worked part-time at Hudson Belk and at the Department of Motor Vehicles where she made many friends. A long-time member of Hayes Chapel Christian Church, Annie Belle taught Sunday School for young people and for the Willing Workers Class as well as singing in the choir. She was Hayes Chapels oldest member at the time of her death. Annie Belle was greatly loved by many people and will be sadly missed.In addition to her parents, her husband Leonard, her brother Wilburt Beasley, and her twin sister Mozelle Matthews, Annie Belle was predeceased by her son Jerry Leonard Stone, Ph.D. She is survived by her daughter Judith Stone Auman of Cary, N.C., her grandchildren, Jon Richard Auman (wife Gaura) of Hertfordshire, England and James Todd Auman, Ph.D. (wife Jenny) of Durham, N.C. and seven great grandchildren, Balaram, Subhadra, Hanuman, Shyama, and Kalindi Auman and Samantha and Eric Stone Auman.Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday, August 9th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Memorial donations in Annie Belles name may be made to Hayes Chapel Christian Church, Garner Road, Garner, North Carolina.
