Annie Ruth Clifton Brown

GARNER -Annie Ruth Clifton Brown, daughter of the late Ulas C. Clifton and Viola King Clifton, died Tuesday after a brave battle with cancer. She retired from the Division of Motor Vehicles with 40 years of service. She was a charter member of Turner Memorial Baptist Church and member of the Garner Chapter 321 Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC27529. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park with Eastern Star Graveside Rites. She is survived by sisters Leta Ferrell and husband, Don of Kenly and Maverine Baker of Garner; brothers, Leamon Clifton and wife, Faye of Angier and Raymond Clifton of Garner; step-sons, Roger Jarman of Elma, WA, and Chester Jarman and wife, Cynthia of Morganton, as well as three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Maverine Baker, 1101 Poplar Ave., Garner, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turner Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3704 Benson Road, Garner, NC27529.
