GARNER - Anthony George Cameron, 60, passed away on December 31, 2022. Born in Kingston Jamaica, W.I., May 22, 1962. He grew up in Porus Manchester, Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 1980.
Preceded in death by his father Bertram Cameron; beloved maternal grandmother, Ivy Bygrave; and maternal grandfather, Richard Myrie.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Gloria Myrie; wife, Elizabeth Cameron; children, Torneisha Cameron, Alvino Nelson, Denise Cameron, Colston Nelson and Kayla Cameron; sisters, Sonia, Joan, Margaret and Cynthia; brother, Gary Cameron; grandchildren, Azariah Small, Messiah Gamble, Chloe Williams and Aksel Nelson. Host of sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; friends and a very special furry member of the family Cameron “Cam”.
Anthony, fondly known as, 'Papa Tony,' fought his battle against cancer for five long years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, and treatment facilities, he never lost his sense of humor, and charisma. Throughout his journey, he cracked jokes with his daughter and in-laws. He was always ready to entertain his in-laws during family vacations.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh. Following the burial, Repass will be held at First Baptist Church at 601 St Marys St, Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends on Friday, January, 13 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Bryan- Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
