Arease Crumpler Jackson

Garner - Arease Crumpler Jackson, 86, passed away Friday . She was preceded in death by her husband, Gershon Jackson; four sisters; and one brother. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Monday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Touchon and husband, Michael; son, Douglas Jackson and wife, Linda, all of Garner; grandchildren, Wendy Denton and husband, Wesley; Michael Jackson and wife, Tammy; Brandon and Chad Touchon; five great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Naylor. Arease was a strong servant of God whose cooking skills were known throughout the entire community. Her service to the sick and shut-in have touched numerous families. She was known as The Watermelon Lady who sold summer melons in her yard for over 35 years. She never missed an opportunity to help others, and she spoke to anyone she could about her faith in God. She retired from the FCX, Inc. after 31 years of service and then worked for BB&T for 17 years. She retired yet again at age 84. She struggled and suffered with bone marrow cancer for the last 15 years, and she derived great strength from her favorite doctors. Dr. William Dunlap and Dr. Mark Yoffe.
