Arnold Wilbert Stoots

Arnold W. Stoots, Jr passed from this life into his eternal life in heaven at the age of 78 on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Grand Strand Medical and Trauma Center. Arnold passed away peacefully after complications from a massive stroke. Arnold was born in Pulaski, VA on December 15th, 1942. His parents were Arnold “Jack” & Helen Campbell Stoots. Arnold being the eldest son has three siblings. Faye Beverly (Don Beverly), Sue Nichols (Troy Nichols), and Richard “Dickie” Stoots (Shelby). Arnold enjoyed growing up as a part of a large extended family. Arnold often spoke fondly of going to his grandparents’ house in Ivanhoe, VA for the weekend or even the summer to spend time with cousins and extended family. Arnold married Elizabeth “Liddy” Anne Stoots on April 4th, 1964 in Lebanon, VA after being introduced by his best friend Randy Herndon on a double date. They were married for almost 46 years. Together Arnold & Liddy had 3 children. Ronald Dean Stoots who passed away in 2019, Kecia Marie Anderson (David), and Krista Anne Stanton (Ron). Arnold & Liddy loved their four grandchildren dearly: David Loflin, Jared Petterson, Ronnie Stanton and William Stanton. Arnold moved to Raleigh, NC in the summer of 1986 following the construction trade he had learned while living in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia. Arnold enjoyed time spending time with family, drawing, traveling around the US and abroad, biking, gardening, cooking, and attending church at New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. After Liddy’s death in 2010, Arnold married his second wife of 9 years, Annette Branton Stoots. They lived in Longs, SC and attended Living Water Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at New Hope Baptist, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC on August 21st at 11 am with funeral services to follow at noon. Graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. A service of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh.
