Arthur “A.W.” Ross

Raleigh – Arthur William “A.W.” Ross, 94, passed away quietly July 29, 2020. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Arthur, Sr. and Lula Callie Wallace Ross. Arthur retired in 1987 after 18 years with the NC Department of Corrections. He was a member of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church in Raleigh where he was a regular in his beloved “Joy Group”. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Ruth Thompson Ross; brothers, Signal Ross of Garner, Walter Wilkins of Nashville, TN and Melvin Wilkins of Lebanon TN, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
