Raleigh - Joseph Banks McAllister, III, born in Winston-Salem November 28, 1955, died Sunday morning, October 25th. Banks was the son of Jo-Anne Lineback and J. B. McAllister, Jr. He graduated from Needham Broughton High School and earned a Computer Science degree from North Carolina State University. An accomplished violinist, he played violin with local symphonies many years, attended Governors School and toured abroad with Americas Youth In Concert. He was a skilled metal worker and roofer, loved flying and playing the piano. Banks is survived by his mother, Jo-Anne, his son Jake Edwin of Clayton, Jakes wife Deborah and their three children of Clayton, one sister Carol Anne Harrell and one brother Craig McAllister both of Raleigh. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at 5pm Tuesday at Holy Trinity with Service following at 6pm. Interment will be Wednesday at 1pm at Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
