ANGIER – Barbara Ann Pope, 91, passed away on Monday, May 10th. A native of Harnett County, she is the daughter of the late William Paul and Nellie Hudson Pope. Barbara Ann’s family owned and operated Pope’s Family Centers and True Value Hardware stores. She, along with her sister, Doris Jean “Dottie”, managed the store in Sanford for 27 years. Upon retirement, they moved back to Angier, built a home and were the caregivers for their parents for 12 years. They enjoyed traveling with family. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 noon at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. Ms. Pope is survived by her sister, Doris Jean “Dottie” Pope of Angier; sister-in-law, Sybil W. G. Pope of Little River, SC; nieces and nephews, William Paul III, George Thomas, Donald and Anthony Pope, Starr Pope Marshall; Ronnie, Mike, Dennis and Darlene Jones and Jennie Jones Cartrette; Lori Fisher and Tom Gore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lynda Lou Jones and brothers, W.P. Pope, Jr. and William R. Pope.
