Barbara Anne Reynolds (Marcy) passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh, NC. She was 89 years old and preceded in death by her husband, Gordon.
Barbara was born on February 26, 1935 to Earl and Marjorie Marcy in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada. She is survived by her brother Ronald Marcy (Rose) and family of Stratford, Ontario.
Barbara was full of love and compassion for all that came into her path. She was a Registered Nurse and practiced for many years before turning her attention full time to raising her family. She had incredible talents in textile arts and loved to spin, weave, knit, quilt, and perform all kinds of needlework. Barbara was still knitting even as her eyesight and dexterity began to fail her providing baby blankets and hats to local hospitals. She has left a rich legacy of her creativity to her children and grandchildren which will be treasured for generations to come.
Barbara was an accomplished musician, classically trained in the piano. She played piano and organ for many years in various churches. She passed her musical talent to various children and grandchildren, and she took pride in all their accomplishments.
Barbara leaves 3 surviving children, David (Carolyn), Christopher (Catharina) and Elisa. She has 7 grandchildren, Joel (Addie), Emilee (Jonathan), Logan (Erika), Zachary, Gregory, Nigel and Mairin. She has 2 great-grandchildren, James and Marcy.
Funeral arrangements are provided by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Garner. Barbara’s remains will be interred at Bushnell National Cemetery in Florida alongside her beloved Gordon.
