Barbara Coats Hunt

Barbara Coats Hunt passed away on May 5, 2017. Barbara was born on May 21, 1937 to the late Ila Bell Coats and William Halford Coats. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas William Coats. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, J. L. Hunt; two sons, Marty Murray and wife Juanita and Steven Murray and wife Margie; four grandchildren, Stacy Murray, Melissa Murray, Daniel Murray and wife Carman, and Conner Murray; brother, Larry Coats and wife Dolores Stone; sister-in-law Glenda Coats; and three nieces, Ame Coats, Chris Coats and Kim Adams. Barbara worked 44 years in State government, most of which was in the North Carolina Attorney Generals office. There she gained many lifelong friends. After retirement, Barbaras life centered around her family and the church, including many dear friends from the Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church. Nothing was more enjoyable to Barbara than celebrating birthdays and holidays with J.L., Marty, Juanita, Steven, Margie and the grandchildren. Barbara cherished the friendships made at her church. Virtually every Sunday after church Barbara, J.L. and friends from the church gathered for lunch. Barbaras family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, 4926 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, North Carolina.
