Barbara Grace Penley

FUQUAY-VARINA - Barbara Grace Penley, age 81, of Fuquay Varina NC, went to her Heavenly home on Friday November 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 6, 1937, in Surgoinsville, TN to the late Willard Neal Bellamy and Tula Evelyn Barker Bellamy. In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Carter, Joann Haynes and Mary Saul. Barbara is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Dan Penley, Sr. and one sister Elizabeth Jane Kiser of Cheraw SC. Barbara is also survived by daughter Vanessa Foote and husband Keith of Bristol TN, son Jerry D Penley, Jr and wife Tammy of Fuquay Varina, and daughter Sherri (Susie) Delbridge and husband Tony of Angier NC; seven grandchildren – Beth Brafford, JD Penley III, Barbie Waddell, Neil Penley, Jonathan Foote, Bailey Delbridge and Bradley Delbridge; and seven great grandchildren – Connor, Ethyn, Reagan, Nathan, Chloe, Eli and Gideon, and several nieces and nephews. Granny (as she was called by all that knew her) was most happy when spending time with her family. In high school, Granny loved to play basketball, and she continued her love of the sport through watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play. She also loved her Duke Blue Devils. When people asked Granny what she did for a living, she replied she never worked a day in her life. She loved her job and the opportunities it gave her to travel. She attended Destination Community Church in Fuquay Varina NC. She loved and served the Lord Jesus every day she lived. Funeral services will be held at Destination Community Church, 7608 Purfoy Rd. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 on Saturday, November 17th at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:45 PM prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Jerry Penley, Sr The graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 18th at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, 905 Wake Chapel Rd. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 at 12:00 PM.
