Barbara Jane Prather

FUQUAY-VARINA, NC – Barbara Jane Prather, 83, passed away at Wake Medical Center in Cary. Born in Marion County, WV she was the daughter of the late Allen Martin Knight and Mabel Rudy Knight.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Services for Barbara in Illinois will be held at a later date including burial at the Medora Cemetery, Medora, IL. Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services in Brighton, IL is assisting the family.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Ray Prather; daughter, Melissa Ann Prather Koenig (Dale) of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Katelyn M. Bachman, Trevor D. Koenig (Erica), Emily E. Koenig (Matt Teurnis), Spencer D. Koenig (Caroline); sisters-in-law, Frances Dodd Knight of Alton, IL and Iola Prather of Kemper, IL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Ellen Knight and brother, Richard Marion Knight.
