Barbara Joy Ellis

Barbara Joy Ellis, 92, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. A native Norfolk, VA, Barbara was born February 12, 1932. She lived in Garner most of her life and enjoyed the opportunity to serve her community. Barbara worked with J C Penney for more than 25 years, serving as a widely respected sales manager. She loved ballroom dancing, sewing, and knitting. More than anything, Barbara loved the time she was able to spend with her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Tina Tapp and husband, Charles, Donna Casey, and Diane Johnson and husband, Wes; son, I. Howard Ellis, Jr. and wife, Karen; grandchildren, April Tabler, Brandon Ellis, Anthony Strickland, Amy Hall, and Jonathan Scott; and great grandchildren, Dylan, Makayla, Layla, Olly, Lexy, and Ashton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I Howard Ellis, Sr. and a daughter, Linda Scott.
