Beatrice Spence Tharrington

Beatrice Spence Tharrington, 90, of Raleigh, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 1, 2015.  She was born in Johnston County May 8, 1924 to Benjamin Sam Spence and Sarah Estelle Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, William Bryant Tharrington; her brother Sam Spence and his wife Lucille; her brother Waylon Spence; her sister Christine Hill and husband Charles; brother-in-law, Sherrill Canady; and her great grandson, Cody Dylan Finch. She is survived by her son Bobby G. Tharrington,Sr. and his wife Terry.  Her sister, Margaret Canady and her sister Brenda Stephenson and husband, Robert; sister-in-law, Ava Spence and numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to her 6 grandchildren and their families: Lorrie and Tayler Herman; Greg, Dana and Ben Tharrington; Sherry and Savannah Lynch; Bobby, Debbie, Ally, Tony, Katie, and Tommy Tharrington; Tiffany, Ben and Benjamin Finch; Christy, Joshua, Jacob, Joy, Chloe. and Christian Foulkrod. Beatrice loved her family dearly as well her church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member of her wonderful Faith Sunday School Class. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 4, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
