Becky Brooks Wallace

Lillington – Becky Brooks Wallace, 83, passed away at home on Saturday. Born in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Jackson and Mary Cornelia Harris Brooks.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23rd at Lillington United Methodist Church, 1201 S. Main St. Lillington, NC 27546. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery, Lillington. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall prior to the service from 1:30-2:45 PM.

Becky is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Bruce Wallace; daughter, Mary Leigh Howell and husband, Ross of Greensboro; her only grandson, Michael Brooks Wallace of Holly Springs; sister-in-law Eva Wallace of Cerro Gordo; and brother-in-law Tom Boswell of Whiteville.

Nieces and nephews: Michael Brooks (Nancy) of Atlanta, GA; Andy Brooks of New York, NY; John Ryan Brooks (Juan Carlos) of New York, NY; Grace Terrell Nims (Tommy) of Aspen, CO; Linda Wallace Yow (Carl) of St. Louis, MO; Julie Wallace of Raleigh; Abby Hammond of Fair Bluff; Zelda Green (Richard) of Cerro Gordo; Howard Wallace (Phoebe) of Cerro Gordo; Rex Roth (Anna) of Chesapeake, VA; Jane Ashley (Doug) of Chesapeake, VA; Michelle Schwartz (Gary) of Kill Devil Hills; Cliff Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; and Clarissa McPherson of Whiteville.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her only son, Charles Richard Wallace and her brother, Dr. Charles Harris Brooks.

The family wishes to thank special caregivers Kathi Dawson, Kathy Tart and Paige Wallace for their attentive and loving care of Becky and thank you to Transitions Life Care for their service and compassion.
