Benjamin Franklin Munson

Mr. Benjamin Franklin Munson was born to the late George and Evelyn Edwards Munson on January 30, 1954 in Nash County, NC and he departed this life August 11, 2020 at Pruitt Health Center in Raleigh, NC. Benny, as we call him “Jim Daddy,” lived at the Atlanta Group Home well over 20 plus years. Benny was a very outspoken individual. Benny was a singer. He loved to sing gospel music. He loved children, loved people, and loved to give big hugs as well as receive them. During his lifetime, he worked at Food Lion. Benny loved God and his family. He was preceded in in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Munson; three sisters: Mary Munson, Pauline Conyers and Rosaline Munson; five brothers: Jerry Edwards, Jacob Edwards, George Munson, Elijah Munson, and Willie Edwards. He is survived by one sister, Geneva Crumell; three brothers: Harold Munson (Denise) of New York, Roy Munson of New York, and Roosevelt Munson (Debbie) of Knightdale; a host of nieces and nephews: Evelyn Conyers, Maxine Conyers, Roger Conyers, Bobby Conyers, Roosevelt Conyers, and Elijah Conyers; and a host of other family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Munson will lie in-state from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh.
