Bennie Earl Walker

Bennie Earl Walker, 71, passed away on July 6, 2023. A native of Garner, Bennie was born July 18, 1951 to the late Henry Ford and Annie Bell (Parrish) Walker. He proudly spent most of his career between Hobart and GoodMark/Conagra where he shared his wealth of knowledge of commercial food equipment. With his love of carpentry and willingness to help others, Bennie was instrumental in overseeing the building of two churches and several homes. He enjoyed repairing model trains, tending to his garden, and sharing his faith with profound insight. Bennie had a great sense of humor and never passed on an opportunity to tell a good joke.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11 AM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The family will receive friends following the service.

Bennie is survived by children, Laura Walker and Brian Walker; granddaughter, Kendall Wise; siblings, Elsie Bynum, Bobby Walker and wife, Edie, Doug Walker and wife, Roslyn, and Sue Best and husband, Mickey; sister-in-law, Lucille Walker; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bennie was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Walker; brother, Billy Walker; and brother-in-law, Al Bynum.
