Jones, Sr., 90, a retired assistant state executive director with the US Dept. of Agriculture, died Wednesday at his home. A native of Rockingham Co., he was the son of the late Robert and Lucy Durham Jones. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday at St. Georges Anglican Church. Burial will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving: a daughter, Rebecca J. Bryan and her husband, William of Rocky Mount; son, Rev. Benton E. Jones, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Raleigh; Grandchildren, William Murphy Bryan, Jr. and Jennifer Tish Jones; and a sister, Mary J. Brame of Reidsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Chapman Jones in 1980. The family will receive friends 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh.
