Berry Otha Barbour

Berry Otha Barbour, 86, passed peacefully at home on Sunday. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late James Otha and Onnie Lee Barbour. Berry was a true servant of God with his family, who he loved beyond measure, and as a United Methodist minister for 53 years.

Berry is survived by loving wife of 10 years, Ann Branton Gaines Barbour; children, Sterling Barbour and wife Paula; Debbie Spivey and husband, Rex; Todd Gaines and wife, Jan; Charlotte Gaines Small and husband, David; Grandchildren, Brad Barbour and wife, Jill; Lauren B. Blackmon and husband, Brandon; Matthew Spivey and wife, Ashley; Todd Spivey and wife, Cortney; Caressa Small, Ava Small, Gaines Small, Adia Gaines, Adriane Gaines and Tessa Gaines; Great Grandchildren, Scarlett, Everett, Willow, Della, Beckham, Cooper, Maggie, Ella Mae, T.A. and Blakely. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Ann Hudson and husband, Shelton and brother, Donald R. Barbour and wife, Jeanette, and brother-in-law Billy Walls and wife, Carol and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his love and devoted wife of 55 years, Dixie Walls Barbour and his brother, Sherrill Barbour.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.
