Bettie Hiserman Voress

Raleigh- Bettie Hiserman Voress, 91, of Raleigh, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016. She was born on July 27, 1925 and was the eldest child of the late Junius Edgar and Lettie Cantley Hiserman. She is proceeded in death by her parents and her sisters Virginia and Jean. She graduated from Charleston (WV) High School and attended Wittenburg University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She lived in numerous states and in each location she actively volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Gaithersburg Help, Community Ministry (WV) and many others. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Hugh; her sons Edgar and Karl; and her daughter Kathleen. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and her three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7304 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels or to a charity of your choice.
