Garner - Bettie Pridgen Hathaway, 92, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her children, friends and caregivers. Born in Black Creek, NC, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Zelphia Pridgen. She retired from Wake County Medical Center after 19 years of service. A loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she enjoyed fishing, spending time with her family and painting. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church of Garner. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service. Graveside service will be 2:30 pm Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC. Survivors include her daughter, Betty H. Thompson and husband, Gary of Dunn; son, Donnie E. Hathaway; her beloved granddaughters, Ashleigh Jackson and husband, Connor of Fayetteville and Whitney Bailey and husband, Woody of Clayton and her cherished great-grandson, Logan Jackson; sister, Christine Sawyer of Wilmington and several sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herbert E. Hathaway and brothers, Ernest and Albert Pridgen.
