Betty Ann Reed

Garner - Betty Ann Reed, 80, passed away at her home on September 9, 2013. Her beautiful soul, kind heart, and lively spirit will be missed by all who were touched by her life. Betty was born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama on March 2, 1933. She is survived by her daughter Beth Reed of Raleigh, North Carolina, and a large and loving extended family. She was the daughter of Ernest and Annie Mae Smith. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Milton Reed, her son Richard Reed; sisters Jeanette Landers, Nina Cassidy, and brother T.W. Smith. In addition to being a loving wife and caring mother, Betty shared her compassionate and tender heart by serving as a teachers assistant for special needs children at Crestline Elementary School from 1978 to 1985. A visitation will be held at the Bryan Lee funeral home in Garner, North Carolina from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thurs. Sept.12th, 2013. Funeral and burial services will be held in Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you honor Betty by helping someone in need or by making a donation to your favorite charity.
