Betty Jane King Poole

ANGIER - Betty Jane King Poole, 91, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2024, in the comfort of her home. The daughter of the late Thomas Coats King, Sr. and Nannie Bagwell King, Betty is survived by her daughters and son, Martha P. Joyner (Gary), John T. Poole, Sr., and Beverly P. Warren; grandchildren, Laurie Joyner, Jennifer Green (Matt), Brandon Joyner (Tonya), Thomas Poole (Laura), Allen Scott, Sean Poole (Ashley), and Logan Warren (Hannah); great grandchildren, Kelsie Green, Bradley Joyner, Caleb Joyner, Mallory Green, Charlotte Poole, Savannah Poole, Colton Poole, Carter Poole, Layla Warren, Lincoln Warren; one great-great grandchild expected soon; and sister-in-law, Phyllis King.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson Poole, Sr.; son, William Jackson Poole, Jr.; brother, Thomas Coats King, Jr.; great grandchild, Layden Mack Warren; great-great grandchild, Elizabeth Nicole Tyndall.

Betty, a Raleigh native, graduated from Hugh Morson High School class of 1951.

Betty was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star for 64 years and it meant a lot to her over the years.

She was loved by all she touched and met. Betty’s family and friends were her whole world.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church in Angier, with visitation beginning prior to the service from 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Raleigh.
