Betty Langdon Mcgee

Garner – Betty Langdon McGee, 85, passed away peacefully Monday evening, January 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 3, 1936 to the late Walter C. Langdon and Zilla Coats Langdon of Four Oaks, NC. Betty graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1954. She worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles for 10 years before her retirement in 2001. She loved life and loved to make people laugh with her quick wit and humor. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and, especially her great-grandchildren. Everyone that knew Betty loved her. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 7th, at 1:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner. A visitation will take place prior to the service, from 12:00 – 12:45 PM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Weta L. Pollard and brother, Hiram Langdon. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James F. McGee; two daughters, Veronica Sessoms (Charles) of Clayton and Yvonne Lloyd (Gene) of Zebulon; brother, Howard Langdon (Linda) of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Sessoms (Jennifer) of Garner, Keri Fisher (Brian) of Currie, and Jared Lloyd (Jessica) of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Taylor Sessoms, Cade Sessoms, Lucas Fisher, Jameson Lloyd, and Everett Lloyd; two nieces; and three nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Betty's memory.
