Betty Laughlin Justice

RALEIGH - Betty Justice, 93, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Betty was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Charles Parsons Laughlin and Laura Belle Robel Laughlin. Betty grew up in Omaha and met Raleigh native George Justice when the Air Force sent him to Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha. Appropriately enough, they met singing in a church choir.

In 1960 they moved to Raleigh. George went to work for IBM and Betty was a housewife and later worked at Belks when the 3 boys were older. The couple was perfect together and very active at Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church for 39 years and later worshiped and participated at Trinity Methodist.

With a house full of men, she learned to follow sports, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers in baseball, and N.C. State sports. That led to her also enjoying watching her grandchildren play different sports.

Her life was centered around her family. She loved George and her boys, and her grandchildren could do no wrong. She would brag about them to anyone who would listen.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by George in 2020.

She is survived by sons, David (Cindy) Justice, Chuck (Pam) Justice, and Brian Justice; grandchildren, Chris (Lauren) Justice, Courtney (Cary) Sexton, and Tim (Tiffany) Justice. Her first great-grandchild, Georgia, was born in October and her second great-grandchild, Shepherd, is due in March.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will occur in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.

Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Urban Ministries or Meals on Wheels.
