Fuquay Varina–Betty Ivey, 74, passed away on Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Wilford and Pauline McLamb Smith. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 9:00-9:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Betty is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Jeffries of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Timothy Smith (Missy) of Fuquay-Varina; nieces and nephews, Tammy Stephens, Richard Roberson, Misty Jeffries (Marvin Friel, Jr.), Melissa Smith, Bryant Myatt (Christy), Taylor Smith (Clayton Williams), Peyton Smith; great nieces and nephews, Dylan Stephens, Isaiah Myatt, Violet Myatt; stepson, Ransom Ivey of Asheboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Norwood Ivey; sister, Mary Myatt; brothers, Johnny Smith, Larry Smith and Edward Smith.
