Betty Stear Long

Betty Stear Long, formerly of Punxsutawney, PA, passed away at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh after a brief illness on February 11, 2012.Betty was born in Punxsutawney on September 25, 1914. She attended Indiana State Teachers College and taught school for five years before marrying Jesse Long in 1939.Following Jesses death, Betty moved to Raleigh in April 2008 to be near her family. She is survived by her son, David and wife, Nina, of Holly Springs, daughter Sally and husband Jim, of Maitland, Florida, granddaughter Amanda Ramseur and grandson David Long, both of Raleigh and granddaughters, Ann OBrien and Susan Mitchell of California.Special thanks to Hospice and especially to the wonderful staff at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh.There will be a visitation from 2:00-3:00 on Wednesday, February 15, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh.Memorials may be made to Haven House Services, 600 W.
