Bevan (Lynn) Hales, 71, of Clayton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Rex Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Lynn had the gift of gab, always had a joke to share, loved playing golf with the boys, loved God and his family. He never met a stranger, and he was loved by everyone who knew him. Lynn met his bride, Diane of almost 50 years, in 1965 during dance class at Garner High School. Lynn secretly had a friend ask for her phone number and would strategically lineup for dance so that he was always partnered with Diane. They dated all through high school and at the age of 21 on July 22, 1972, they were married. They had a wonderful marriage and two boys that he loved dearly. You could often find Lynn on the ballfield or the basketball court watching his boys do what he loved. Lynn is survived by his wife, Diane Williford Hales; son, Ashley (Lorie) Hales of Wilmington; son, Ryan (Sandee) Hales of Clayton; brothers, Craig Hales (Elizabeth) of Angier, and Jeff Hales (Nickie) of Clayton; brother-in-law, Larry Williford (Carol) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Daughtry, Carter, Bailey, Sawyer, Hannah, Blythe, and Ameiah Hales; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Lynn is predeceased by his parents, Bevan and Rosalee Hales of Garner. Officiating: Dr. Jeffrey Sholar and Dr. Harvey Whaley
